One of the biggest challenges in tuning modern scooters is ensuring that the ECU will recognise and accept any after market components such as exhausts or cylinder kits. Now, Polini has devised ‘SmartMap’ which uploads a Polini map directly into the stock ECU. This preserves the vehicle’s original electronics without any permanent installation. A solution designed to update engine management in a precise and calibrated way, with the option to restore the original configuration at any time.

This is a simple and user-friendly system, designed to avoid the installation of permanent wiring harnesses or additional control units.
Polini Maps
The available maps are dedicated to specific scooter models and vary depending on different engine setups: For example a more open intake, new exhaust system (original or racing) and where applicable, increased displacement
Continuously updated platform
The appropriate map is determined by consulting the Polini master compatibility table.
- Applications are continuously updated: supported scooter models and dedicated engine maps may increase over time.
- The table must always be consulted to verify supported models, available maps, and any operational notes.
- SmartMap is not just a product: it is an evolving platform.
Polini Variator: always compatible
The Polini Variator can always be installed before or after SmartMap and with all available mappings, depending on the specific application.
Dedicated Wiring
A dedicated wiring harness is required for connection to the vehicle’s diagnostic port (sold separately).
Each SmartMap device is exclusively linked to the frame and engine of a single scooter.
